This OpKey Agent Prerequisites & Installation Document has been developed to help OpKey Web users to ensure prerequisites & then install OpKey Agent on the windows machine.
Prerequisites:
· Java 1.8 for execution
· .Net 4.6.1 (it will be installed when agent is installed)
· RAM – 4 GB (Minimum)
· Hard Disk space – 250 GB (Minimum)
1. Downloading and installing OpKey Agent
OpKey Execution Agent is a Functional Test Execution Engine which provides a GUI-based execution environment on the web. It follows the Open Test Architecture design by supporting the execution with any new plug-in. OpKey Execution Agent is necessary for executing Test on OpKey web.
a) Downloading OpKey Agent:
You can download OpKey Execution Agent from the Download Center on OpKey dashboard. Install it on the Windows machine, configure it and then use it for test execution.
Steps to be followed:
· Login to OpKey Web with valid credentials.
·
Navigate to the Download Center on OpKey Dashboard,
click on it and then click on OpKey Agent.
·
Agent Information window opens. Click on Download Agent link to start
downloading OpKey Agent.
·
Just
within few seconds, OpKey Agent setup file gets downloaded. Further, you need
to install it on your machine by following few easy steps.
a)
Installing OpKey Execution Agent –
·
Double click the downloaded OpKey Agent setup file and
follow installation steps.
·
Click on Next
to proceed the Agent installation process.
·
You can customize installation of OpKey Execution
Agent features during installation. If you want to install full version of
OpKey Execution Agent then select Full
and select Custom if you want to
customize it. Click on Next to
proceed.

In this step, OpKey Execution Agent calculates the
available, required & remaining space on your machine. Click on Next to proceed.
·
From here, you can customize usage of this OpKey
Execution Agent being installed on your machine for All users of this computer or
Just me. If you select All users of
this computer then it will be accessible to all users working on this
computer whereas if you select Just me
then it will be accessible only to the current user of this computer. You can
check Create Installation Logs to
view installation logs on completion of Agent installation. Click on Next to proceed.

In this step, Agent installation is being prepared.
Click Next to proceed.
·
Your installation process is going on. Please wait for
a while…
·
Here, you need to enter the Agent Authentication Code. Authentication
Code (a unique alphanumeric key) available on the Agent Information page under
Download Center. This Authentication code is required to connect OpKey domain
with agent so that connection of local machine can be done with OpKey’s cloud
server.
Note: In case of local hosting of OpKey where Download Center option is not
available to view the Authentication Code & use it accordingly, you can
skip the providing Agent Authentication Code and proceed by
checking “Continue without
Authentication Code” checkbox. After successful installation of Agent, you
can later configure it by providing Server URL, Agent Name, Username and
Password.

A popup message appears. Click Yes to continue.
·
Click Finish
to complete the installation process.
· Here, now you need to select Authentication mode as OpKey Server Credential, enter Server URL, Agent Name, Username and Password to configure OpKey Agent and then click on Login.
·
Relaunch the OpKey Agent and start working on it.
There is an Authentication code (a
unique alphanumeric) for OpKey Agent which is available on the Download Agent
page under Download Center. This Authentication code is required during
installation of OpKey Execution Agent in Web
Mode (by default), you will need to enter this Agent Authentication code to
specified text field and click on Finish.
Once installation has finished successfully, a shortcut icon of OpKey Agent is
created on the desktop. Double click this shortcut icon to launch the OpKey
Agent. Here, you can view that your OpKey Agent is configured successfully in
Web Mode and you are logged in. Thus, you need not to configure the OpKey Agent
manually.
